Polybutadiene rubber (BR) is a synthetic rubber which is obtained by polymerization of 1,3-butadiene. It has a semi-crystalline structure and is used in a variety of application areas. Besides excellent elasticity, its characteristic features include good abrasion resistance and good low-temperature behavior.

The main areas of application are in adhesives, sealants and rubbers, as a co-agent for periodic cross-linking, as a reactive plasticizer, or for improving the cold flexibility.
